Peak 2.0 is currently in development, this documentation is a work in process.

What is Peak?

Peak is a digital athlete training diary.

Peak brings a professional level of sports monitoring to athletes of all skill levels and ability. Peak is designed to improve communication between teams, reduce injuries and enables teams to map better pathways to peak performance.

The 3 goals of Peak

Communication

Peak creates a succinct form of communication with real actionable data between the athlete, coach and therapist.

Reduce Injuries

Peak helps reduce injury risk by alerting all parties when an athlete may be in danger of injury or illness BEFORE it happens through our unique communications centre.

Better Outcomes

The consistent use of Peak helps improve outcomes by knowing when an athlete is at their physical and mental best so sessions can be set to optimize these opportunities accordingly.

What does monitoring do?

Monitoring plays a crucial role in sports by fostering effective and succinct communication among athletes, coaches, and therapists. It helps mitigate the risk of injuries and illnesses by observing trends and changes in athletes' conditions. Additionally, monitoring improves training outcomes by managing fatigue and power with greater precision, allowing for more tailored and effective training programs. Furthermore, it enhances the understanding of each athlete's unique training and recovery needs, ensuring that individual nuances are addressed for optimal performance and well-being.

  • Creates effective and succinct communication between athletes, coaches and therapists.

  • Mitigates injury and illness risk through observation of trends and changes.

  • Improves training outcomes by managing fatigue and power with greater precision.

  • It creates a better understanding of the individual training and recovery nuances of your athlete

Monitoring improves decision making

Monitoring training in sports significantly enhances decision-making, making good programs even better and mitigating risks in less effective ones. According to Simplifaster, a daily monitoring regimen establishes a rhythm that facilitates conscious decision-making on a daily basis, allowing coaches to adjust training plans as needed. While injuries can still occur, it's important to recognize that monitoring is not a fail-safe but a tool; it doesn't prevent all problems any more than a barbell causes a hamstring injury. When coaches listen to the data collected through monitoring, they can significantly enhance their training programs. Additionally, monitoring extends beyond physical training to encompass overall wellness, helping coaches understand how life stresses outside of training impact an athlete's performance and development. This holistic approach ensures that the athlete's balance in life is considered, contributing to more informed and effective coaching decisions.

  • Monitoring makes great programs better and bad programs less dangerous – Simplifaster

  • Daily monitoring creates a rhythm that allows for daily conscious decision making

  • Injuries happen…It is never that monitoring doesn’t work, its just that it can’t do everything. You don’t blame barbells for the hamstring injury

  • A training program can be boosted when the coach listens to the data – Simplifaster

  • An athlete’s balance in life goes beyond training, so wellness monitoring allows the coach to see what impact life stresses may be having on their athletes athletic development

How monitoring opens better Communication

Monitoring plays a pivotal role in enhancing communication within sports teams by providing objective feedback, which serves as a foundation for discussions between coaches, athletes, and therapists. This system streamlines conversations by reducing unnecessary small talk, allowing all parties to focus on pertinent issues more efficiently. When athletes understand the monitoring process, they tend to be more invested and approach their training with increased professionalism. According to Simplifaster, a training program can significantly benefit when coaches actively listen and respond to the data gathered from monitoring. While no monitoring system is perfect, it effectively removes many layers of guesswork, making every interaction more targeted and productive. This not only optimizes the training process but also strengthens the communication links between everyone involved.

  • Monitoring can give objective feedback which enables the coach to start a communication with the athlete and therapist

  • Monitoring can reduce the small talk between the athlete/coach/therapist so they can get to the issues quickly

  • When an athlete understands the process they will be more invested and more professional

  • A training program can be boosted when the coach listens to the data – Simplifaster

  • No monitoring system is perfect but it removes many layers of guesswork that can make every interaction more effective

Monitoring Load through subjectivity

Load monitoring and wellness monitoring are sometimes not congruent as the athletes perception is what guides wellness monitoring. However when used together, accurate programming decisions can be made that make a program more professional
